Dec. 9 (Diary) Let’s translate English and go global!

Sunny

In the morning, I took a walk in the neighborhood park to wake up from my hangover.

Also, working on the English translation of “I want to be a savior” and proofreading the next work to be made into an e-book.
I’m not very good at both of these tasks, so I quickly skipped them.

When I read English all the time, my mind suddenly freezes and I can’t read any more of the alphabet. I honestly admire people who can read English books all the time, whether they are novels or anything else.

This may be a bit of a stretch, and it may sound like a lot of meddling, but I would like to encourage anyone who publishes e-books (especially literature) to try their hand at English translation, whether it be with English translation software or through an external request through Coconara.

In a previous book, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Arata Tendo talked about the importance of English translation in their work.

I wonder why Japanese writers don’t write in English. (omitted) I think they can do it. If you look around the world, there are many writers who write in languages other than their own. (omission) It doesn’t matter if they don’t write in good English. If you write only in Japanese, you will never reach the world.

He says, “I think it’s true.

I think it is true. In a country where the population may be halved in the future, there is a limit to the number of readers no matter how much you create. Just as Korean entertainment and professional golfers once set their sights on the world, Japanese writers should (somewhat reluctantly, I might add) also set their sights on the world (an inspiration to myself, who easily slacks off).

But English is difficult.

A winter afternoon, my traveler’s heart tingles at the sight of a withering field.
