very much

Mid-January means that New Year’s is over, the weather is getting colder, and a little later it will be Setsubun.
It’s like a black hole of the season, a time of events, a time of openings.

Everyday, news of the earthquake and other disasters make me feel that death is closer than ever before.

And more importantly, I wonder if death is really external.
Does “death” mean that it comes from the outside, physically, and forcibly tears apart the body, crushes it into pieces, and destroys it?

Real death may not be external, but internal.
When the spirit comes to know “death,” and when it someday identifies itself with “death,” then and only then may we “die.
one may “die.

In other words, when the spirit of the self, which has always been the self, becomes one with the spirit of the world as Hegel calls it, this is the true “annihilation” of the individual. At the same time, it may be “salvation.

The death of another person is always sad. When it is not sad, I feel that it means the death of the self.
Every day, during zazen, these thoughts suddenly come to me as if I were delusional.

Of course, it is “blackmail.

“Are the tears of the victims also mixed in, O wind flower?”
