dust (poet)

dust

What was it that made me dumbfounded
What on earth was that?
I look up at the ceiling
in the quiet light of spring
Tiny specks of dust are fluttering down
I see them and it reminds me
I remember who I used to be
I don’t know what made me so stupid
I’ve just been trying not to crush my weakness
I’ve just been trying not to crush my weakness
Blowing up with my breath
And then the dust falls again
The world is silent and still
Only loneliness is with me
Suddenly I hear a dove cooing
I tune in
and together we hum a little Poppo
What was it that made me so dumb
what was it?
I stare into the air
In the soft afternoon light
A tiny speck of dust rises up
And the weakness inside me
Drifting out together
I don’t know what made me so stupid
I’ve been trying to inspire you
I’ve only been trying to inspire you
