Finally, we were able to publish “Niji no Yoriko” as the second e-book edition.
This is the first novel I wrote for children, and is a major retake of a work I submitted to the Kodansha Children’s Literature Newcomer Award in 2015 and passed the first qualifying round (you can find it online).
The synopsis is that a boy who is good at predicting rainbows learns of a crisis that is coming to town and struggles to solve it with his best friend, who aspires to become a Viking.
At the same time, it is a story about the growth of the protagonist, who was always timid and unsure of himself.
Marlon, the main character, does not use violence (although he whines a lot) and does not easily pick up weapons in order to solve the problems that come one after another. He doesn’t eat any fruit, he doesn’t go through rigorous training, and he wasn’t actually born of some noble birth.
They were just ordinary children, but how they saved the town and how they became the heroes of the town, I hope you will be excited to read the story until the end.
