December 7 (Diary) Flying Consciousness with Haiku

cloudy and rainy at one time

He said, “To get a philosophical intuition, one needs a poetic sense at the end.” I think it was Hideo Kobayashi. I suddenly remember that.

He said that no matter how much logic you pile up, you will never hit the limit and come up with an innovative thought that will open people’s eyes. Perhaps that is why Nietzsche’s writings are so poetic.

I am not a philosopher, so I have no intention of creating innovative ideas, but I would like to get that philosophical intuition. That’s probably similar to an idea for a novel.

Writing poetry, I do not do it for the sake of writing pure poetry, but perhaps to get innovative literary ideas. However, I really feel that poetry, no matter how far it goes, is still a Western thing.
I always feel someone’s gaze on me. When I think of that, I feel that there is a disconnect in my sensibility.

In this case, I guess I would have to go back to waka and haiku.
If the beauty of the East lies in trying to feel the infinite in reality, haiku may be an excellent way to find beauty in the present moment. We gain philosophical intuition through haiku. This is what Matsuo Basho must have been seeking.
Wabi, sabi, karomi.
However, it is quite difficult to write a novel about them. Novels are also somewhat westernized, as the great writers of the Meiji period were puzzled by.

In such a situation, I use haiku to send my thoughts flying toward infinity.
