Rain, rain, rain.
When it continues like this, no matter how hot it is, I want to seek summery skies.
People who think they are smart tend to push themselves too hard in life. They tend to be overworked. On the other hand, those who think they are not smart tend to resent and envy life.
If this is the case, the happiest thing for us may be to think nothing about whether we are smart or not. However, this is surprisingly difficult.
This is because one’s intelligence is constantly measured by the school and others throughout elementary school, junior high school, and high school. The system is designed to make you know your level of smartness naturally as you live your life.
Even though there is really no standard for smartness anywhere, we tend to seek some standard. They are tempted to obtain academic degrees, deviation scores, IQs, and difficult certifications.
Then, they start to look at others based on the standards they have obtained. They assume others are geniuses. They look down on others as idiots. Because it is mentally easy to do so. They think that the standard they have obtained is what makes them who they are.
If you want to be yourself, if you want to live a life that is true to yourself, the first step may be to consciously get away from these standards, to forget about them.
I wonder if I can afford to laugh at others.
